Apresenta tradu\u00e7\u00f5es de 15 obras-chave de 20 acad\u00eamicas\/os que fornecem uma vis\u00e3o geral abrangente do desenvolvimento da teoria da Folkcomunica\u00e7\u00e3o no Brasil (de 1967 ao in\u00edcio do s\u00e9culo XXI). Organizada em tr\u00eas se\u00e7\u00f5es \u2013 <em>Founding Fathers, Dialogues <\/em>e<em> Interfaces<\/em> \u2013, o livro introduz conceitos fundamentais e explora conex\u00f5es interdisciplinares e debates contempor\u00e2neos. Este projeto de tradu\u00e7\u00e3o come\u00e7ou em 2017 devido \u00e0 falta de literatura em l\u00edngua inglesa sobre Folkcomunica\u00e7\u00e3o, apesar do crescente interesse internacional nas teorias de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o brasileiras. A Rede Folkcom colaborou com um projeto de l\u00edngua inglesa do Departamento de Letras e Artes e do Programa de P\u00f3s-Gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Letras: Linguagens e Representa\u00e7\u00f5es (PPGL-UESC) da Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (UESC; Ilh\u00e9us, Bahia, Brasil) para selecionar e traduzir artigos seminais sob supervis\u00e3o rigorosa, garantindo conte\u00fado e clareza.<\/p>\n<p>A iniciativa tamb\u00e9m envolveu o desenvolvimento de vocabul\u00e1rio especializado para manter a profundidade te\u00f3rica dos textos originais, tornando-os acess\u00edveis para acad\u00eamicas\/os e estudantes n\u00e3o familiarizadas\/os com o campo. Este livro representa um passo estrat\u00e9gico para a Rede Brasileira de Pesquisadoras\/es em Folkcomunica\u00e7\u00e3o (Rede Folkcom) na promo\u00e7\u00e3o de narrativas locais dentro do cen\u00e1rio global de pesquisa.<\/p>\n<p>O reconhecimento da Folkcomunica\u00e7\u00e3o cresceu internacionalmente, evidenciado pela participa\u00e7\u00e3o de acad\u00eamicos norte-americanos, a exemplo de Joseph Straubhaar e Jake Draper em eventos da Rede Folkcom. Este trabalho \u00e9 um passo significativo para aumentar a visibilidade da Folkcomunica\u00e7\u00e3o e promover interc\u00e2mbios acad\u00eamicos.
